Monthly budgets for the ledgers you use

Give a ledger a name and choose its currency, then set an overall monthly budget if you want one. The same budget amount applies each month, and only expenses count toward it. The budget view shows how much you have used and what remains, or how much spending is over.

A ledger can hold your own spending or money records you choose to share with your partner. You can give different parts of life their own place, such as everyday spending and a trip, with a budget suited to each ledger.

Record and split expenses with your partner

Add an expense with its amount, category and date. A note can keep the small details with the record. In a shared ledger, record whether you or your partner paid, or use a percentage split when the expense belongs to both of you.

The split records how the amount is divided between you. You can look back at the transaction and its allocation later. Keeping that detail with the expense gives you something concrete to refer to when you talk about shared spending.

Recurring records and a view of spending

Record income as well as expenses. For regular entries, configure recurring transactions with a schedule; entries are created on their scheduled dates. A recurring record can keep a regular expense or income entry in the ledger alongside the things you add as they happen.

Use the spending breakdown and monthly trends to review the records you have entered. Category views show where the recorded amounts went, while the monthly summary brings income, expenses and balance together. You can return to an individual record when you need its details.

    Yours, or yours together

Personal and Shared are separate choices

Pairing does not automatically share your money records. Personal ledgers stay yours; choose a Shared ledger when you want to keep records with your partner. Sharing requires an active partner connection, and your accounts remain separate.

Your partner does not see your sign-in details or private account settings. Optional App Lock protects access to Mallow.ai with Face ID or your device passcode where available. You decide which money records belong in a space you both can see.

A few things you might wonder

    Common questions

Can we keep personal and shared spending separate?

Yes. Use Personal ledgers for your own money records and Shared ledgers for records you want to keep with your partner. Pairing does not share personal ledgers automatically.

Can I set a monthly budget?

Yes. You can set an overall monthly budget for a ledger. Only expenses count toward it, and you can see budget usage, the remaining amount or any overspending.

How do we split a shared expense?

In a shared ledger, record who paid or choose a percentage split for both of you. The expense record keeps that allocation with the amount and other details.

Can I record regular bills and income?

Yes. Recurring transactions create income or expense records on their scheduled dates. Set up the regular entry in the ledger where you want those records to appear.

    Can I choose a currency?

Yes. Each ledger has a currency choice, and its amounts are shown in that currency. Pick the currency that fits the records you will keep in that ledger.
